Spring hatchery tours, through May 30 — tours last 45 minutes, feature multiple spots around hatchery and cost a suggested donation of $10 a person and can be scheduled at least 7 days prior. Click here.
Spring school group tours are also available ($5 per person) and involve feeding the trout, viewing the aquarium and learning about the salmon life cycle. Read more here.

The Friends of the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery (FISH) is pleased to share the underwater salmon cam: click here – to view our miraculous salmon. The Chinook have journeyed for 2 weeks & 42 miles through 10 cities to get to the hatchery. There are currently dozens in Issaquah Creek. The Coho will join them in early October.
The Friends of the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery (FISH) is pleased to announce the 3rd annual: Salmon on Sunset Celebration which will observe the adult salmon coming home! On Saturday, September 14, 10 am-6 pm, attendees can view the adult salmon up close as they travel to the Issaquah hatchery. There are plenty of family friendly activities planned including: free family arts and crafts, food trucks, rubber duck derbies, live music stage, fly casting demonstrations, salmon shed painting, beer garden and community outreach booths. The popular Rubber Duck Derby will fill the salmon raceways hourly with duck racing contestants: 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm 3pm, 4pm & 5PM! The event is open to everyone and free to attend.
The Issaquah Salmon Hatchery, nestled in the picturesque city of Issaquah, Washington, has become a shining example of salmon conservation and habitat restoration efforts. With a commitment to preserving the natural heritage of the region, the Friends of Issaquah Salmon Hatchery (FISH) provides educational opportunities for the local community through guided tours, science presentations & group demonstrations.
Attendees will be able to view live salmon spawning as well as other family friendly activities, the event is free for everyone.

2024 Annual Training Day
Interested in volunteering at the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery? Join us this Saturday to find out volunteer opportunities. Opportunities include: habitat restoration, spawning fish, under water salmon cam, hatchery maintenance, events, photography and more!
See the schedule below:
9 to 10 am – New Volunteer Orientation. Meet at the Watershed Science Center. Orientation includes a brief presentation and hatchery tour.
9:30 to 10 am – Morning Meet and Greet. As new volunteers leave for their hatchery tour, doors open in the Watershed Science Center for current volunteers to complete registration and connect with each other. Coffee, tea, and snacks provided.
10 to 12 pm – All Volunteer Training. Introductions followed by a fall programming overview, refresh on volunteer processes, salmon and hatchery knowledge game, and education best practices presentation.
12 to 1 pm – Lunch Social. Take a break, eat, and connect with other FISH volunteers. Pizza, salads, fruit, veggies, treats and beverages will be provided.
1 to 4 pm – Training Breakout Sessions
For the afternoon, volunteers will be split into three groups and participate in breakout sessions. Session topics are based on the greatest need for fall operations. We ask that volunteers attend all breakout sessions because even if a volunteer is not interested in a topic, it is important to be familiar with it in case a visitor asks questions.
